Helping All We Can While We Can
In Order to achieve a desired goal a variety of approaches must be taken. Many of which may fail, but all failure is not final. Failure is a part of success, so to let a person know that relieves them of some negative feelings about themselves. You have sheltered, shattered and shamed people who are unhappy because of some kinds of failures. We must provide time, concern, compassion and kindness.
One of the most difficult things in life is listening. You can't help someone if you don't listen.
Mentoring is meeting people where they are at and taking them mentally and emotionally where they need to go. Even if you got a child with Autism you must find out what it takes for them to look you in the face and talk to you what kind of exercise it takes for a child with Autism or ADHD. Someone once asked the question what's love got to do with it? I say everything! From loving yourself enough to spread love on others how to love themselves and build character to the oppressed. And the misfortune show some hope, give a smile to the lonely and laughter to the sad. We must gear up to be ready to conquer what's needed. Dress up to impress but at the same time dress down not to force authority.
The main purpose of mentoring is reaching one who is lost in some way or another. So if it takes a suit so be it. If it take shorts and sneakers so be it. If it takes comedy so be it. If it takes compassion so give it. I don't like to fail. I've done enough of that so I try my hardest not only to be a winner but I try for everyone I come in contact with to believe they are a winner.
You may ask the question why i'm not Pastoring anymore? It's because there is a church on every corner but there is only one kingdom and to seek ye first. The kingdom we must help those who are in bondage and to me mentoring is breaking someone out of bondage.
No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.
